Few departments were managed concurrently. Secretary and Principal Secretary are positions involving policy planning and budgeting, execution, monitoring and evaluation. The position warrants giving advice to political executives and also in addressing issues concerning legislature.
WORK HISTORY:I joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1983. Worked in the Government of Kerala and Government of India in different capacities. I have managed departments with responsibilities of policy support, programme planning and execution, and evaluation. Areas of expertise include
1.Development Departments :Agriculture, animal husbandry, Fisheries, Local Self Government, sports, Land revenue administration, Tribal welfare, Medical Education and Health Care
2. Regulatory Departments :Sales tax, Excise, Law and order as District Magistrate
3 .Infrastructure Departments :Port, Harbour Engineering and Power
4. Other positions 1. Director, Institute of Management in Government, a capacity building center for the Government of Kerala 2. Managing Director of Kerala Livestock Development Board, a unit for livestock development. As MD I have also coordinated an externally aided project, an Indo-Swiss venture 3. Managing Director, Bharat Immunologicals and Biologicals Croporation Ltd, a polio vaccine parking unit, for government of India
Academic PositionsAcademic coordinator for MBA courses offered at Indira Gandhi National Open University, Trivandrum, Kerala Registrar, Center for Earth science Studies, an R&D institution.
